  • Dubai's listed parking operator, Parkin, has signed a memorandum of understanding with UK-based Skyports Infrastructure to develop vertiports for air taxi landings and take-offs. These vertiports will be integrated into Dubai’s new transport infrastructure, designed to transport people and cargo swiftly and efficiently. Parkin aims to generate revenue from parking facilities at the vertiports, which will play a key role in advancing urban mobility. The vertiports will also provide essential services such as passenger processing, aircraft charging, and maintenance.

  • This collaboration will focus on building parking facilities at suitable vertiport sites, as well as exploring new opportunities to expand air taxi infrastructure across Parkin’s network. This move aligns with Dubai’s broader push for innovative, sustainable transport solutions that reduce road congestion and offer faster, greener alternatives. Just this week, Dubai also approved a 65km suspended transport system, featuring “sky pods” that will further enhance transportation options in the emirate.

Why it matters

The initiative signals a major leap forward in urban mobility, positioning Dubai as a global leader in futuristic transport systems.
